Ecommerce website design for small businesses
Click and Mortar designs and builds ecommerce storefronts that help shoppers understand your products and reach checkout. We plan the product pages, navigation, cart experience, and connections around your existing commerce platform or the platform agreed for the project.
Is this the right fit?
For businesses launching a product catalog, improving an existing store, or connecting a custom website to a managed commerce platform. The work starts with how you sell and fulfill orders, so the storefront fits the operation behind it.
What we can build together
- A storefront plan for collections, product information, and shopping journeys
- Responsive product and collection page designs using approved product assets
- The cart and checkout handoff supported by the chosen commerce platform
- A scoped plan for product data, variants, inventory, and existing URL changes
- Agreed purchase-flow checks and a handover for store content and account ownership
Three decisions before we start
Keep the current platform or move?
Review your catalog, order history, connected tools, and the limitations causing the change. A better storefront may not require migrating the system that already runs your orders.
Is the product information ready?
Confirm product names, variants, images, prices, availability, and descriptions. Catalog cleanup and product photography are separate work unless included in the proposal.
How will orders be fulfilled?
Identify who maintains stock, ships products, and handles returns or customer questions. Your approved delivery and return information should be clear before a shopper commits.
How the work moves forward
- Review the catalog, platform, customer journey, and store operations.
- Agree the page templates, data work, integrations, and checkout responsibilities.
- Build the storefront and connect the agreed commerce flows.
- Test the purchase journey using the agreed test method, then document store management and launch checks.
Questions before you hire us
Can you improve my existing online store?
Yes. We inspect the current platform and identify whether the problem is navigation, product presentation, mobile usability, or a broken connection. The proposal can focus on the storefront while preserving the existing order and fulfillment systems where practical.
Do I need custom checkout software?
Usually the first option to evaluate is the checkout already provided by your commerce platform. A custom storefront can hand shoppers to that checkout. Any unusual payment, subscription, or fulfillment requirement needs its own feasibility review before it is promised.
Can you move products from another platform?
Product migration can be scoped after reviewing an export, variants, images, and the destination platform. Customer records, order history, subscriptions, and URL redirects are separate considerations. We define what will transfer and how it will be checked before making changes.
Are shipping, tax, and payment settings included?
The proposal names the settings and connections included in the build. You provide the approved business rules and maintain the relevant merchant accounts. Platform subscriptions, payment processing, and third-party apps may have their own charges; those costs are separate from website design.
What determines ecommerce project cost and timing?
Catalog size and complexity, page templates, product data preparation, migration, and integrations shape the work. A small storefront and a store with complex variants or subscriptions require different scopes. We agree the launch criteria and responsibilities before quoting the project.
